Here’s another one to add to the list of Mike Love’s Crimes Against Decency:

Marc Ambinder:

And Steve Roche, a top Romney fundraiser, writes in the e-mail that Romney “will be hosting a breakfast to kickoff his fundraising efforts for Senator John McCain on Saturday, May 10th.”

He continues: “The Governor has asked his supporters to help Senator McCain’s campaign financially. To that end, I will be following up with you in the next few days to discuss how you can help.”

Should Romney’s visage not be enough, the invitation says that the Beach Boys will be playing for assembled guests.

Of course, these days the name ‘Beach Boys’ is doesn’t mean what it used to. These days, you don’t get Dennis or Carl Wilson (they’re both tragically dead), you don’t get Al Jardine and you don’t get the godlike genius who actually wrote the material they’re best remembered for. No, these days you just get a wealth-obsessed hack, fluffing up his retirement fund by playing bad cover versions to anyone offering top doller. Such a fitting choice for a Republican fundraiser.

Update: By the way, for those keeping score, Student Demonstration Time isn’t actually his #1 crime against decency – it’s this:
