Still immersed in online application form hell at the moment. I’ve never been a particularly organised soul, so the act of making ‘to do’ lists is proving quite a novel experiment. According to the spider-scrawl on the dog-eared Post-It note which sits on my dest, writing will resume on Monday. Anyway:

  • Given the past 12 months, the government’s new poverty figures are as bad as you’d expect them to be.
  • It’s a proud day for law inforcement: Kent police make small children cry.
  • Laura Woodhouse gives her take on feminism & marriage.
  • David Rothkopf on the case of the anti-gay marriage Miss California.
  • Elizabeth Dickinson looks at how the Obama administration’s doing at responding to the crisis in Sri Lanka.
  • In the States, you should be careful about slamming Creationism; it might violate someone’s constitutional rights.
  • Mike Dunford asks whether it’s really worth making a vaccine for this current strain of H1N1.
  • Owen Thomas wonders whether Google could wind up in one gigantic anti-trust investigation.
  • And from The Onion: Trekkies Bash New Star Trek Film As ‘Fun, Watchable’.
